Temple and Spice

Visit a selection of Goa's Temples located in Ponda and its surrounding villages.

The Mahalsa temple dedicated to Goddess Mahalsa, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The temple is augmented by the 6 storied Deepstambha, an ornamental lamp pillar which is lit on special occasions.

Take a brief walk through a Goan village enroute to this temple.

Visit the Mangueshi temple dedicated to Lord Manguesh an incarnation of Lord Shiva. The architecture reflects an amalgamation of Hindu, Christian and Muslim styles of construction. These temples originally were located in different villages and these deties were brought to the present locations clandestinely and re-settled at the present locations due to threats of persecution by the Portuguese rulers.

Proceed to the Spice Plantation for a tour of organically grown spices. The spices grown here are vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, pepper, cloves, chilly curry leaves and ginger. Besides this they also have medicinal plants and fruit bearing trees. You can then enjoy a traditional Goan lunch, served to you at the farm itself. You can also purchase the spices, cashewnuts and mementoes, all produced at the farm itself.
