Historical Goa Tour

We start with visiting "Cidade de Goa", the original name for the 'city of Goa' which was established in what is now called "Old Goa". Alfonso de Albuquerque established the Portuguese presence in Goa and was later assisted by St. Francis Xavier in establishing the Portuguese territory in Goa.

Comprising of the Basilica Bom Jesus dedicated to Infant Jesus, it enshrines the sacred remains of St.Francis Xavier. The other churches worth seeing are those of St. Cajetan, St. Francis of Assisi, St.Cathedral and Church of St. Monica. Their unique architecture boldly depicts their strong sense of design and heritage.

Return to Panjim, capital of Goa, driving through the city to see its colonial architecture. Take a leisurely walk through Fontainhas, whose distinct Iberian architecture displays the unique lifestyle during the Portuguese days. Walk through the busy streets of Panjim and shop for gifts and souvenirs.
